EDLESBOROUGH WAR MEMORIAL

World War 1 & 2 - Roll of Honour with detailed information
Compiled and copyright © 2001 Lynda Smith
additional information Eileen Bennett who transcribed the Roll of Honour and The Scrap of Paper

Edlesborough is just over the Bedfordshire Border in Buckinghamshire.  The Memorial is situated on Leighton Road in front of the Church at the junction with the High Street. The memorial is a simple Celtic cross atop a square plinth with an octagonal base. The parish council maintain the memorial. There are eight names for World War 1 and eleven for World War 2. Within the church is displayed a Roll of Honour and The Scrap of Paper. There are two more names on the actual War Memorial than are displayed in church as these names were added later.
