There are two memorials at Binstead, one external and the other inside the Holy Cross Church. The external cross stands at the junction of Church Road and Binstead Hill and takes the form of an octagonal Latin cross and a plinth on a three stepped base; there is a sword of sacrifice on front face of the cross. The internal memorial is within the church of Holy Cross. There are 27 names for World War 1 and 11 names for World War 2. Also buried in the churchyard is Field Marshall

Served in the South African War with Private 2606, 3rd Battalion, The Queen's Own (Royal West Kent Regiment). In the 1881 census he was aged 15, born Hampshire, an agricultural labourer, resident with his parents, Henry and Mary Collins, at Cammisses Farm, Binsted, Alton, Hampshire. Buried in North-West part of BINSTED (HOLY CROSS) CHURCHYARD, Hampshire.
