BUTCHER George William Reynolds

Private 3436, 1s/5th Battalion (Territorial), Norfolk Regiment. Died at Gallipoli 28th August 1915. Aged 32. Born Litcham, enlisted East Dereham. Son of William and Hannah Butcher; husband of Edith Frances Butcher, of East Lexham, King's Lynn. No known grave. Commemorated on HELLES MEMORIAL, Turkey. Panel 42 to 44.


possibly William CRISP, Private 20944, 11th Battalion, Essex Regiment. Killed in action 28th September 1916. Born London, enlisted Norwich, resident Hardley. Formerly 17770, Norfolk Regiment. No known grave. Commemorated on THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Pier and Face 10 D.


probably Harry NICE, Lance Corporal 16472, 7th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment. Killed in action 26th March 1918. Born Sudbury, Suffolk, enlisted Norwich. Awarded the Military medal (M.M.). No known grave. Commemorated on POZIERES MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Panel 23.

SCULPHER Arthur John

Private 17521, 3rd Battalion, Coldstream Guards. Killed in action 12th April 1918. Aged 24. Born Castleacre, Swaffham. enlisted Norwich, resident East Lexham. Son of Robert and Emily Sculpher, of Newton Rd., Castle Acre, King's Lynn. No known grave. Commemorated on PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL, Comines-Warneton, Hainaut, Belgium. Panel 1.

SEAMAN Ernest William

Acting Bombardier 32547, Machine Gun Corps (Motor Branch). Died of wounds in United Kingdom 21st September 1916. Born East Lexham. enlisted Norwich, resident Swaffham. Son of William Herbert and Thirza Anna Seaman, of East Lexham. Buried in south-east part of ST. ANDREW CHURCHYARD, EAST LEXHAM, Norfolk.

WILGRESS Charles William

Private G/9095, 6th Battalion, Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment). Killed in action 27th November 1916. Aged 25. Born Litcham. enlisted Norwich, resident East Lexham. Son of David and Alice Wilgress, of East Lenham (sic), Norfolk. Buried in WAILLY ORCHARD CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. Plot I. Row F. Grave 12.
