out of Celone, Italy, in a Consolidated Liberator BVI, serial
number EV812, when the aircraft crashed into the sea just off
the Italian coast during a raid on Plovdiv, Bulgaria, believed
to have been returning with a technical problem, 19 March 1944.
Aged 22. Son of Frederick and Lily Eyres, of Salford, Lancashire.
