Private 103103, 55th Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps. Died of wounds received in action 9 May 1918. Aged 24. Born and resident Widcombe, Somerset, enlisted Bath. Son of Henry Thomas and Emily Elizabeth Cottell, of Temperance Hall, Widcombe, Bath. In the 1911 census he was age 16, born Bath, Somerset, resident with his widowed father, Henry Thomas Cottrell, at Temperance Hall, Claverton Street, Bath, Somerset. In the 1901 census he was aged 6, born Bath, Somerset, resident with his parents, Henry Thomas and Emily E Cottrell at Temperance Hall, Claverton Street, Bath, Somerset. When he attested, 23 October 1915, at Southampton, he was employed as an Indoor Servant/Clerk, aged 21 years 6 months, born Widicombe, Somerset, unmarried, height 5 feet 9 inches, chest size 37 inches, next of kin was his widowed father Henry J Cottrell. Buried in PERNOIS BRITISH CEMETERY, HALLOY-LES-PERNOIS, Somme, France. Plot I. Row C. Grave 13. See also Bath, St. John Ambulance

Reginald Arthur
Privaye 55927, 13th (Service) Battalion (2nd Rhondda), Welsh Regiment. Killed in action on 8 October 1918, during the 2nd Battle of Cambrai. Aged 22. Born 19 November 1896 in Bath, resident Bath. Son of Alfred James Crocker and Ada Jane (nee Vanstone) Crocker, of 10, Wellsway, Bath. Employed by Bath Corporation in 1914, and soon after the outbreak of the First World War, he volunteered for the Army, having received a white feather from someone. He was just 18 years old so must have lied about his age; his mother tried to stop his joining up but without success. In the 1901 census he was aged 5, born Bath, Somerset, son of Alfred James and Ada Jane Crocker, resident Cynthia Villas, 1, Twerton, Bath, Somerset. In the 1911 census he was aged 15, born bath, Somerset, a Corporation Clerk, son of Alfred James and Ada Jane Crocker, resident 2, Carisbrook Villas, Oldfield Park, Bath, Somerset. Buried in PROSPECT HILL CEMETERY, GOUY, Aisne, France. Plot VI. Row B. Grave 16.
