The
Wighton memorial is to be found at the crossroads of Kirkgate Lane and
High Street, in KIrkgate Lane, Wighton. It takes the form of a base
surmounted by a plinth with a tapering shaft, a sword is on the front
face of the shaft, and floriate cross; there is carved inscription on
the sides of the plinth; the whole is set within railings mounted onto
a low concrete wall. There are 14 names listed for World War 1 and 5
for World War 2. The cross was damaged in a storm and repaired in 1993.
The men listed for World War 1 are listed in year groups.
