Flight Sergeant 1568791, 114 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Based at Falconara, Italy, flying in a Boston IV, serial number BZ460, he was killed in action when his aircraft crashed into the sea off Falconara when returning from a night intruder sortie 21 February 1945. Aged 21. Native of Alloa, Clackmannanshire. Son of Bernard and Jane Hamill, of Alloa, Clackmannanshire. No known grave. Commemorated on MALTA MEMORIAL, Malta. Panel 18, Column 2. HENDERSON Arthur
[Listed as Chief Petty Officer on memorial] Engine Room Artificer 4th Class D/MX 75673, H.M. Submarine Porpoise, Royal Navy. Died at sea 16 January 1945. Aged 23. Born 10 February 1922 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire. Son of John and Mary R. Henderson, of Alloa, Clackmannanshire. No known grave. Commemorated on PLYMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL, Devon. Panel 94, Column 2.
HENDERSON James Mitchell
Flight Sergeant (Navigator/Air Bomber) 1565053, 630 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Based at East Kirby, Lancashire, flying in a Lancaster I, serial number LL950, when his aircraft was shot down by a night fighter at Vesterlund 6 miles northeast of Give when outbound on a mine laying sortie to Kiel Bay 22 May 1944. Aged 35. Native of Alloa, Clackmannanshire. Son of Alexander and Agnes Henderson, of Alloa, Clackmannanshire; husband of Sheila Henderson. Buried in ESBJERG (FOURFELT) CEMETERY, Denmark. Plot A. Row 12. Collective grave 18-24.
HENNY Thomas [Morrison]
Private 2986649, 7th Battalion, Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders. Killed in action in Sicily 21 July 1943. Aged 26. Born Stirling, resident Clackmannanshire. Son of Henry Henny, and of Elizabeth Morrison Henny, of Alloa, Clackmannanshire. Previously wounded but had stayed at duty in Tunisia 6 March 1943. Buried in CATANIA WAR CEMETERY, SICILY, Italy. Plot I. Row D. Grave 38.
